Double Glazing Door Repair Job in Hove
Brighton & Hove Locksmiths successfully repaired a discontinued gearbox for a customer in Hove, restoring their uPVC door to full working order. We also provide double glazing repairs across Brighton & Hove.
At Brighton & Hove Locksmiths, we were called to assist a homeowner in Hove whose double glazed door had jammed and wouldn’t open. On inspection, we discovered that the gearbox inside the multipoint locking mechanism had failed.
This particular gearbox was an old, discontinued model that’s no longer manufactured. Rather than replacing the entire lock, we used our experience and precision skills to repair the existing gearbox, restoring it to full working order.
The customer was thrilled that we were able to save the original mechanism—avoiding the need for a costly and unnecessary door replacement.
As well as lock and gearbox repairs, we also carry out double glazing repairs, including window mechanisms, hinges, and handles to help keep homes secure and energy-efficient.

At a recent job in Hove, we were called out to deal with a faulty lock that wasn’t operating smoothly. After carefully removing it, we stripped the lock down, inspected all the internal components, and carried out a full overhaul and clean to restore proper function.
